Maribyrnong City Council (Vic)

Residents of Maribyrnong City can join Compost Community free of charge to order subsidised compost bins, worm farms and bokashi bins. Average savings are 60% off retail prices.

Residents of Moreland can join Compost Community free of charge to order subsidised compost bins, worm farms and bokashi bins. Save off retail price and receive free delivery of your compost system..

Baw Baw Shire (Vic)

Worm Farm and Compost Bin Rebate 2015-2016
All ratepayers are eligible for a 100 per cent rebate of up to $100 on the purchase of a compost bin or worm farm. This means if you spend $50 you will get back $50 or if you spend $120 you will only get back $100.

City of Casey (Vic)

From 1 July 2016 residents can claim the following with a receipt:
  • $30 for the purchase of a compost bin
  • $40 for a Bokashi Bucket
  • $50 for a Worm Farm
The offer is limited to one rebate per residential property each year. Proof of purchase and proof of residency (which may include recent utility bill, concession card, rates notice, or similar) is required to get the rebate.

Home Composting Incentive Program

Residents can get a $30 rebate when they spend $100 or more on the following retail products:
  • Compost or mulch bin
  • Worm farm
  • Bokashi bucket or starter kit
  • Compost worms (booster boxes)
  • Bokashi mix.

Whitehorse Solar Rebates
Council offers a one-off $100 rebate for solar hot water units and $154 for solar panels (photovoltaic cells) is an incentive for residents and businesses to use renewable energy such as solar power. The rebate is available for existing solar installations as well as new installations.

Council is currently offering a 7% rebate on the price of a rainwater tank or bladder.

Cardinia Shire (VIC)

Compost & Worm bin Rebate 
$30 rebate to residents who purchase a compost bin. More information on Cardinia Shire's website.  

How to claim the rebate
The resident of the property can make the request by coming in person to the Council Offices, submitting an online form or downloading and mailing the completed form to Council at: PO Box 7, Pakenham, VIC 3810. Proof of purchase (your receipt) and proof of address are required to complete the claim.

Liverpool City Council (NSW)

Liverpool City Council runs a worm farm and compost rebate program. Residents can claim back up to $50 from the purchase of a compost bin or worm farm.

City of Cockburn (WA)

A place close to my heart, having volunteered on mining site rehabilitation for CVA during my uni days, the City of Cockburn also offers compost rebates for the betterment of the environment!

Shire of Exmouth (WA)

The Shire offers a 30% Rebate for locally purchased compost bins of an approved type (one that is fly and vermin proof). Simply complete the Compost Bin Rebate Application form and submit to the Shire, together with proof of purchase and a completed.

City of West Torrens (SA)

If you are a West Torrens resident you can apply for a rebate from Council when you buy a:
  • compost bin - up to 50 per cent (or $50) of the total cost
  • worm farm - up to 50 per cent (or $50) of the total cost
  • kitchen caddy with compostable bags - up to $20 of the total cost.

On ordering you will receive order confirmation that should suffice as a tax invoice receipt, however we are more than happy to supply a separate tax invoice receipt - just let us know!
